There are two major ways to check the server status for Black Ops Cold War. The first is to check the official server status website Activision maintains. This will tell you whether or not the servers are online and functioning as intended, but that won't provide the full picture — outsized demand can prevent you from connecting even if the servers are problem-free.

The second way to check server status for Call of Duty games is to head to the game's Downdetector page. There, players can submit their own complaints about connection problems, creating a real-time sense of where and when the connection is having trouble.
